Feel the freedom of open water swimming during your stay at Clawford Lakes. Surrounded as we are by freshwater lakes, it would be a missed opportunity if we didn’t give you space to take a dip. In our beautiful Leisure Lake, you can enjoy the amazing benefits of getting back to nature when you immerse yourself in the open waters.

With lots going on in the Leisure Lake including stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking, we have cleared the schedules from 9-10am and 5-6pm daily for swimmers. A truly liberating experience, open water swimming is for competent swimmers only. If you like your swimming a little less wild, you might prefer the fabulous pool overlooking the lake, where you can watch the open water swimmers from a safe distance!

• 14^th– 22^nd February: open daily
• 23^rd February – 3^rd April: on request
• 4^th – 19^th April: open daily
• 20^th April – 22^nd May: 5 days a week (closed Monday and Friday)
• 23^rd – 31^st May: open daily 
• 1^st June – 24^th July: 5 days a week (closed Monday and Friday)
• 25^th July – 31^st August: open daily
• 1^st September – 23^rd October: 5 days a week (closed Monday and Friday)
• 24^th October – 1^st November: open daily
• 2^nd November– 22n^d December: on request
• 23^rd December– 2^nd January: open 24, 26, 28, 29, 30, 31

Please note

• Guests and owners must complete a disclaimer form before taking part in any water sport activity
• Due to the temperature of the water it is compulsory to wear a wet suit to take part in any activities on the Leisure Lake from November-March
• All guests and owners taking part in water sports activities will be required to watch a safety video in the activities hut before going out on the lake
• Guests must swim in pairs
• No dogs are allowed in the water
• Open water swimming sessions are for guests and owners. Under 16s are welcome to take part in sessions but they must be accompanied by an adult.
